ALPHACAM Appointment Focuses Global Support From UK

ALPHACAM has taken the first step towards creating a global support team based in the UK, with the appointment of UK and International Support Manager Justin Beamish.

Having been an ALPHACAM customer in his previous two jobs, he brings a wealth of programming knowledge to this newly-created post, along with extensive experience of using ALPHACAM to resolve manufacturing issues.

His last role involved programming and operating a large Multicam 8000 Series router producing a wide variety of furniture, small components and moulds. ALPHACAM General Manager Nick Spurrett says his expertise in both 3- and 5-axis requirements makes him ideal to head the software’s growing support team.

“As ALPHACAM is a global company, we’re building a team of exceptionally gifted engineers, and Justin’s appointment gives us the ability to operate global support from our head office in the UK.”

Justin Beamish says: “I encouraged a previous employer to adopt ALPHACAM’s 3D machining capabilities, as that was something new to them at the time. ALPHACAM is the perfect software both for high end markets where the products require more of a personal touch, as well as manufacturing components swiftly and accurately. It opens up almost limitless design opportunities.”

He is looking forward to providing assistance through ALPHACAM’s support portal, both for customers in the UK and to resellers across the globe. “It’s essential that if customers have a production issue, we can identify the best way of resolving it using ALPHACAM.”

Having trained as an apprentice with a joinery company, he studied furniture design and craftsmanship at university, before becoming a chair-maker with a traditional high-end furniture producer, using hand tools. He then joined a company where he gained his first taste of CNC machinery as an operator and ALPHACAM programmer.
His next move was to a firm specialising in corporate projects. “I set up the Multicam and started using it for 3- and 5-axis work. The company provided a full design, build and installation service with top to tail project management, which meant I was constantly programming the machine for something new. This excellent grounding will help me support ALPHACAM customers around the world in using the software to get the very best out of their machines.”

Nick Spurrett concludes: “The business has seen double digit growth for both of the last two years, so the time is now right to increase our investment in support, ensuring we can always provide a quick and accurate solution to any issue.”
